For those touch up spots a concealer is the answer. There are a wide variety of concealers on the market. Some concealers are too pink, too dry, too hard to apply. Finding one that does the job for you may take some experimentation. How to apply your concealer 1. Match your concealer to your skin tone, be sure it is no more than one shade lighter for the best results 2. For the best and most natural coverage apply your foundation first, then apply your concealer to the flaw areas and retouch foundation if needed. 3. Apply lightly, and add more as needed. Be sure it doesn’t look caked and and unnatural. Blend thouroughly. 4. If you have dry skin apply a light moisturizer prior to applying foundation and concealer. 5. In high school Paul found himself drawn to music and playing the guitar, spending a great deal of time involved with the school theater. The name Bono was the brain child of his close friend Guggi who took it from a Hearing Aide store located in Dublin. Bono Vox also means good voice in latin. In 1976 a flyer was posted at his high school by Larry Mullen who was looking to form a band. Paul was jumped at the opportunity. The band became U2 which is now known around the globe. Their relationship moved very slowly because Alison wasn’t interested in becoming one of the Bono girls. Get together in the near future? A re-union? Try something in a festive jewel tone and be sure to finish your look with some fabulous shoes and hand bag and don’t forget the jewelry. Add earrings and a necklace to finish your look. A baptism – you’re the godmother? Try a soft flowing skirt and a cap sleeve blouse. Or how about a nice light shift topped with a print jacket. You’ll look stylish but you won’t be over done. Pay attention to the shoes on your feet – classy but comfort is important because you’ll be standing for a while. Add some light jewelry, a pair of baguette studs and a chain and you’ll be ready. A date for high tea? Although the formality of white gloves is gone it is still important to dress nicely. Do not wear jeans or a sloppy shirt. If the high tea is an informal meeting then pants with a nice light jacket is spring colors is appropriate. If high tea is to honor someone then step it up a notch with a nice light skirt and top, or a nice light dress with jacket. Some funky jewelry for the casual get together or more elegant jewelry for the more formal get together. Click to continue reading this article Gold In Civilizations This precious metal fuels many men's greed and lust. It's powerful symbol of wealth that many in today's society and ancient civilizations could not live without. Gold controls the monetary trading system and is the number one ingredient in jewelry. Since ancient civilizations started worshipping its strength and beauty, gold has turned nations against each other and inspired artesian to lavishly adorn the wealthiest bodies and their surroundings. The history of gold in society shows time and time again the crazy lengths society is willing to go to possess this rare metal. For example, pharaohs actually worshipped gold and took it to their death in hopes of buying their way into the afterlife. Also, the Spanish went out on missions over the edge of the horizon to find gold and bring it back for their sponsor. Some of the more ancient references to gold include "the sweat of the Sun" according to the Incas. Just like the Incas, many civilizations valued gold for its resemblance to the sun. To appease the Sun God, many cultures began sacrificial ceremonies with the victims wrapped in gold adornments. Since only the wealthiest could afford to indulge in golden pleasures, royalty hired many of the best goldsmiths. During the eras before the fall of the Roman Empire, anything that was considered a treasure was covered with gold, dressed up with gold, or carved out of gold. About the time of the Roman Empire's demise, gold mining was nearly tapped out and productions from raw gold were not to be found until almost 1000 years later. When the Spanish traveler Cortez came upon the Americas in the 1500s and stole the Mexican's treasured gold, productions in gold regained speed. Again, when California's Gold Rush exposed veins of gold along the West Coast and later up in Yukon Territory, gold took on a new dimension. This rush permitted even the most common person to own a piece of gold. If you could find a big enough nugget, you could enter a lifestyle reserved for only the upper echelon. After the gold rush of the mid 1800s, over 90% of the world's population of gold has been produced. Today, more veins of gold occasionally surface. Discoveries of gold in Australia and South Africa have increased the market for gold again. In Italy, for example, many goldsmiths are returning to "knit" gold into sculptures and other monuments. The main use for the world's gold is to back currency. This is done by simply storing gold bars in secure locations. Otherwise, gold jewelry is a premier use for gold. The gold in jewelry is valued by karat, weight in grams, and the craftsmanship of the design. Yellow gold was once the standard gold used in jewelry; today many people prefer the newer white gold. What is the difference between white and yellow gold? When mined, gold is yellow. Gold is usually mixed with an alloy of nickel or zinc. White gold is pure gold that is mixed with an alloy of nickel and palladium. What is the enduring quality of gold over the centuries? As the ancient philosopher Pihder said over 2500 years ago, "Gold is the child of Zeus, neither moth or rust devour it." Copyright 2005 Peter Doram. He was a top notch designer who had worked with companies such as Cartier. Philippe was instrumental in turning Trifari into a profitable company in just a few years. His designs in the art deco period were extremely popular and because he was able to work with less expensive metals he was able to design the overly large flower pins and the fruit salad jewelry.
