Honeymoon Trip

Now that you are about to be married, you are probably trying to figure out which of your many choices you should choose for a honeymoon trip. After all, you want everything to be perfect, so that you'll have a lifetime of marvelous
memories.

When planning a honeymoon the first consideration is timing. It used to be that people went on their immediately after the wedding, usually leaving on the same night! It's becoming increasingly common for couples to wait a few
months before taking their trip. The period following the wedding may be anti-climatic, some couples experience post-wedding blues. Delaying the honeymoon leaves something to look forward to after the wedding. Some couples retreat
to a private bed and breakfast or for a "mini-moon" (a short weekend getaway) right after the wedding.

Before you choose a destination for your honeymoon, decide how much time you can take. If it is only going to be a week then discount faraway places like Europe or Asia. You'll end up being jet-lagged at both ends, leaving little time to enjoy your destination. Remember also that you'll be losing at least two of your days to travel. The Caribbean is an excellent choice if you are taking a week-long honeymoon. There are a number of islands to choose from, and most of them offer great package deals. You can stay at an all-inclusive luxury resort, where you will enjoy food, drinks, and entertainment for a good price. If you want to enjoy sunny beaches and each other's company, the Caribbean might be just the right spot. It is great in the winter months as well.

If lying in the sun is not your idea of a good time, there are plenty of great honeymoon destinations in North America. Consider one of the many resort type towns that offer plenty of outdoor activities. Banff, Alberta is a unique resort town in the middle of the Rockies. If you ski or snowboard you and your sweetie will enjoy the fantastic hills in this area. Banff is a winter paradise, with plenty to do, and a town that is full of unique shops.

There are many locations close to home if you are unable to get away for a long vacation. Some options, such as a week at a quaint bed and breakfast with spa facilities can be a great alternative. These quick trips are a wonderful way to relax and enjoy quite time together, without length travel plans.

If you are fortunate enough to have two or more weeks for your honeymoon, the destination possibilities will seem endless. Currently the South Pacific is very popular. The weather is great all year and you can find luxury resorts to
treat you like royalty.

With all of these choices available, you and your future spouse need to spend some time deciding what you most want from your honeymoon. Sitting down with a stack of travel brochures will be almost as much fun as the trip itself.
Make the right choice, and you'll create a most memorable experience.
