Spring Weddings
March through May is considered spring. Depending on where you live, March can be an unpredictable month, often bringing winds and rain. April and May are unpredictable too but not as much an the nip of the winter air has dissappeared. April is known as the romantic month because they host many of the prettiest flowers of the year. May weddings get all the benefits of April weddings but are pretty much guaranteed warmer and more stable weather patterns.
Summer Weddings
The tradition of June weddings goes back to the ancient Romans and June is still the most popular month to wed. The month of June was named Juno, goddess of women and marriage, who vowed to protect those who married in her month. In may areas June is the first month of warmer weather. June offers romantic roses which bloom throughout the month. Because of the high deman in June, you may have a more difficult time booking wedding locations, musicians, and caterers, so book early! Many gals have had the dream of a June wedding since they were young, so if being a June bride is important to you it is certainly worth the extra planning.
If you just want a summer wedding but are not attached to June, July or August are great choices. They offer the heat of summer, long nights, and they are perfect months for outdoor wedding with very little risk of bad weather.
Fall Weddings
They say fall is for lovers. There are many reasons to get married in September or October. The weather is still mild although crisp and in most parts of the country fall boasts spectacular scenery in the fall. It is also much easier to book your honeymoon destination as kids are back to school and vacation destinations are less busy.
Winter Weddings
November through February is considered the winter season. Fewer people choose to wed through the winter months so it is much easier to get locations, musicians, and caterers. You may get better pricing during this time as they are all anxious for the next sale.
December is an age-old favorite for nuptials. December can be ever so romantic with candlelight, falling snow, the scent of pinecones in the air. December is a lavish holiday season of its own, so adding a wedding celebration is perfect. According to Irish folktales, the last day of the year is an especially lucky one on which to wed. Scottish lore, meanwhile, has it that January 1 is the most fortuitous day for a wedding.
Getting married in January or February has the same advantages as November, with many sites and services easily available to you. Don't forget February has the most romantic wedding date of all - Valentine's Day.
Choose the season to meet your wedding style and personal tastes. Whichever season you choose - they all boast the ability for that perfect wedding!
