How To Choose Your Groom's Attire

The groom should select his attire based on the wedding theme. For a semi-formal or formal wedding, the groom will need a tuxedo. The most popular tuxedo colors are black, white, and gray.

Informal wedding:
Choose a business suit, a white dress shirt and tie

Semi-formal wedding:
Choose a formal suit, with a white dress shirt, and a cummerbund or vest.

Formal wedding:
Choose a black dinner jacket with matching trousers, a waistcoat, and a white tuxedo shirt. Wear a bow tie, cummerbund or vest, and cufflinks

Very formal wedding:
Choose a black tailcoat with matching striped trousers and a white wing-collared shirt. Wear a waistcoat, with patent leather shoes, studs and cufflinks, and gloves

When selecting the grooms wear keep in mind your wedding theme, the bride’s gown, and the season of your wedding. Consider darker colors for a fall or winter wedding and lighter colors for a spring or summer wedding.

Choose a shop with a good reputation when renting your tuxedo. If you don’t know which shops are good then ask around. Make sure they have a large selection of styles and colors to choose from.

Reserve the grooms tuxedos and the attendants tuxedos 2-3 months in advance of thee the wedding to insure a wide selection and to allow enough time for alterations.

Pick the tuxedos up a few days before the wedding to allow time for last minute alterations. Ask about the store's return policy and be sure you delegate someone to be in charge of returning all tuxedos within the time allotted.
